Job summary

Excellus BCBS is seeking a Software Engineer specialized in ETL development. You will design, develop and maintain ETL processes using Informatica PowerCenter or equivalent tools, leveraging XML, SQL and JavaScript.

You’ll work with cross-functional teams, participate in SDLC and provide ongoing support for data integration projects. The role emphasizes data transformation, parsing JSON/XML messages, and collaboration with stakeholders to communicate project status and proposals.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in computer science, information technology or related field; 3 years of experience if no degree, bachelor’s preferred.
• Proficiency in XML, JavaScript and SQL.
• Familiarity with Informatica PowerCenter or similar data integration tools.
• Experience with Git and Azure DevOps or equivalent source control.
• Understanding of ETL processes and data transformations.

Responsibilities

• Develops code and analyzes system issues within ETL and software development life cycle.
• Participates in on-call production support rotation.
• Maintains and follows IT processes, documentation, design and code reviews.
• Communicates with team and stakeholders to understand requirements and impacts.
• Creates work plans and programs following development standards.
• Builds proficiency in one tool and standard source control usage.
• Develops understanding of SDLC methodologies and applies them.
