Job summary

Primoris Services Corporation, through Primoris Renewable Energy, seeks a Senior Estimator to lead cost estimation for utility-scale and commercial solar PV projects in the Denver area. You will develop accurate bids, manage quantity take-offs, and coordinate with engineering, PM, and business development to optimize design and cost.

You will mentor junior estimators, review designs for risks, and ensure bid integrity while adhering to NEC/IEEE standards and company policies.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in construction estimating, 5+ years in large-scale solar PV.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
• Proven track record in estimating and winning solar projects.

Responsibilities

• Prepare comprehensive cost estimates for utility-scale and commercial solar PV projects.
• Analyze plans and specifications to define project scope and risks.
• Perform detailed quantity take-offs for solar components and BOS.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor quotes per project requirements.
• Collaborate with engineering, PM, and BD for design and cost optimization.
• Lead bid reviews and present to clients; communicate scope and assumptions.
• Identify value engineering opportunities to control costs and maintain quality.
• Mentor junior estimators and ensure adherence to policy and ethics.

**Job Overview:**Job Summary Primoris Services Corporation is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator specializing in Solar/PV projects. This role is responsible for developing accurate, competitive, and timely estimates for large-scale solar photovoltaic installations, ensuring bid integrity and contributing to project success. Job Responsibilities \\* Prepare comprehensive cost estimates for utility-scale and commercial solar PV projects, including but not limited to labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and indirect costs. \\* Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to accurately assess project scope and identify potential risks or opportunities. \\* Conduct detailed quantity take-offs for all solar system components, including modules, inverters, racking, BOS, civil works, and electrical balance of plant. \\* Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor quotes, ensuring compliance with project requirements and company standards. \\* Collaborate with engineering, project management, and business development teams to optimize project design and cost-effectiveness. \\* Develop and maintain a strong understanding of current market conditions, material costs, labor rates, and construction methodologies relevant to solar PV projects. \\* Lead bid reviews and participate in client presentations, effectively communicating the scope, assumptions, and breakdown of estimates. \\* Identify and implement value engineering opportunities to reduce costs while maintaining project quality and performance. \\* Mentor and provide guidance to junior estimators, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment. \\* Ensure all estimates adhere to company policies, procedures, and ethical standards. Job Qualifications \\* Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field. \\* Minimum of 8 years of experience in construction estimating, with at least 5 years specifically focused on large-scale solar PV projects. \\* Proven track record of successfully estimating and winning significant solar projects. \\* Expert proficiency in estimating software (e.g., HCSS HeavyBid, B2W Estimate) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook). \\* Thorough understanding of solar PV system components, installation methods, and relevant industry standards (NEC, IEEE, UL). \\* Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills. \\* Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with various stakeholders. \\* Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, specifications, and contract documents. \\* Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines. \\* Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as needed.
