Peckham Industries Inc. (PII) is seeking a Senior Estimator-Milling/Paving in Palmer, MA. The role leads estimating for big DOT projects, mentors a team of estimators, and analyzes historical costs to prepare comprehensive bids.

The ideal candidate has a B.S. in civil engineering or construction management and 5+ years of asphalt paving/highway estimating experience, with proficiency in B2W and MS Office.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Civil Engineering or Construction Management preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in Asphalt Paving/ heavy highway construction estimating.
• A track record of estimating projects between $5M and $25M.
• Proficient in B2W Estimating Software, Excel, Word, and Project.
• Proficient verbal and written English.
• Legal right to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of estimators to drive results.
• Review plans and specs to define scope and construct competitive bids.
• Prepare comprehensive project documentation including estimates and takeoffs.
• Conduct extensive market analysis for projects.
• Assign estimating responsibilities for each project.
• Identify risks and magnitude on projects.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers and stakeholders for accurate estimates.
• Build and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers for pricing.
• Evaluate bids from subcontractors and suppliers for competitiveness and compliance.
• Proficient in MASSDOT and CTDOT Standard Specifications.
