Job summary

DCS Asset Maintenance, LLC is seeking an experienced estimator to support growth in performance-based maintenance contracting for roadways and bridges. Prepare detailed estimates by gathering information, modeling costs, and presenting options to leadership.

The ideal candidate has strong numerical and analytical skills, excellent communication, and the ability to work with internal teams and subcontractors. DOE pay and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of estimator experience, preferably in highway or structures asset maintenance.
• Knowledge of financial and project management principles.
• Advanced math and IT ability with an analytical mindset.
• Proficiency in Excel, Power BI, and related software.
• Understanding of AI applications in estimation and data analysis.
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
• High integrity with confidentiality.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Self-directed with solution-oriented approach.
• Willingness to work non-standard hours during busy periods.
• Ability to present to executives.

Responsibilities

• Understand the performance-based maintenance contracting business model.
• Gather site, supplier, subcontractor and operator data and requirements.
• Determine key cost variables for estimates.
• Research labor costs, materials, production times, and other inputs.
• Use data analysis, modeling, forecasting and budgeting software.
• Review offers and quotes from subcontractors or vendors.
• Create and submit estimate reports and bids to leadership.
• Build relationships with key vendors and engineers.
• Present bids to Company Leadership at gate reviews.

Job Description

DCS Asset Maintenance, LLC is looking for an experienced estimator to support our exciting growth in performance-based maintenance contracting for roadways and bridges. You will prepare detailed and accurate estimates for bids and proposals by gathering information, working with operators, performing advanced analyses, and presenting options to leadership for decisions.

The ideal candidate will have excellent and advanced numerical skills and an advanced analytical mindset. You must also be thorough and adept in managing relationships with key people – both within DCS Asset Maintenance and our subcontractors and suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Understand the performance-based maintenance contracting business model
• Understand the project/program and its requirements
• Determine key variables for cost and other estimates
• Gather first-hand information from sites, suppliers, subcontractors, and operators
• Conduct research to obtain data on labor costs, materials, production times, etc.
• Use software for data analysis, modeling, forecasting and budgeting
• Obtain and review offers and quotes by subcontractors or vendors
• Create and submit estimate reports and/or bids to appropriate persons (project managers, company leadership, etc.)
• Build relationships with key vendors (subcontractors, suppliers, engineers, etc.)
• Present bids to Company Leadership at gate reviews

Qualifications

Requirements and skills

• At least 5 years of proven experience as estimator or similar position – experience with highway or structures asset maintenance is a plus
• In depth knowledge of financial and project management principles
• In depth knowledge and experience of research and data analysis methods and estimation formulas
• Proven advanced math and IT ability with an advanced analytical mindset
• Expert level proficiency in relevant software (Excel, Power BI, etc.)
• Understanding of the proper use and application of Artificial Intelligence (AI)
• Outstanding and proven communication and negotiation abilities
• High level of integrity with the ability to be trusted with sensitive and confidential company information
• Ability to produce work product that is thorough, reliable , and executable
• Excellent organizational skills
• Ability to be self directed,, bring solutions and respond accordingly to constructive feedback
• Must be able to work non-standard hours during heavy periods of activity
• Ability to present to executives
