Job summary

Lane Construction is seeking an experienced estimator to drive the bidding process for large civil infrastructure projects in the United States. The role involves site visits to understand conditions, reviewing estimators’ work, interpreting plans, and building pricing using standard methods and software.

You will coordinate with Supply Chain, mentor team members, and engage with DOTs and subcontractors. Candidates should have a Bachelor's Degree, construction experience, and 10+ years in

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• Experience with HCSS HeavyBid, Agtek and Primavera P6 preferred.
• Construction experience required.
• Supervisory/management experience with 10+ years in field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Visits project site to understand site conditions/restrictions.
• Reviews the work of Estimators.
• Utilizes project plans and specifications to interpret and decipher scopes of work.
• Assesses scopes of work to establish pricing using conventional methods and software.
• Creates a preliminary project schedule using scheduling software.
• Manages the bid team for takeoff and pricing of project or scope of work.
• Assists in preparing bid forms, conceptual estimates and negotiated proposals.
• Mentors and coaches team members.
• Coordinates with Supply Chain to price resources needed for project.
• Communicates with DOTs, subcontractors, and vendors to meet minority goals.
• Researches historical and regional costs for estimating a bid.
• Researches new bidding opportunities and newly advertised projects.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Description

• Visits project site to understand site conditions/restrictions.

• Assesses scopes of work to compile and establish pricing to cover project-related work activities using conventional methods and software.
• Creates a preliminary project schedule based on the information provided in the plans and specifications utilizing scheduling software.
• Manages the bid team for takeoff and pricing of project or scope of work.
• Assists in preparing bid form, conceptual estimates and negotiated proposals.
• Mentors, coaches and provides feedback to others.
• Coordinates with Supply Chain, to price the resources needed for project.
• Actively communicates with DOTs, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure projectsA' minority goals are being met.
• Researches historical and regional costs for estimating a bid.
• Researches new bidding opportunities and newly advertised projects.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
