Job summary

Chesapeake Contracting Group seeks a Sr. Estimator to analyze project documents, determine overall cost, and prepare bid proposals for timely submissions.

The role includes turnover of awarded projects to the PM team and coordinating with trade partners. This position can be based in Owings Mills, Herndon, or Annapolis and involves leading bid teams, takeoffs, risk assessments, and subcontractor coordination to meet customer expectations.

Qualifications

• Proficient in estimating software, esp. On-Screen Takeoff and Bluebeam.
• Strong mathematical and computer skills.
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Experience with trades in Divisions 2-16.
• Able to work in a team and under pressure.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Willing to follow Chesapeake Contracting Group policies and core values.
• Able to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Lead bid lifecycle guidance for project teams.
• Review plans/specs to confirm complete scope.
• Identify risks and quantify impact.
• Manage responses to bid invitations.
• Perform quantity takeoffs.
• Contribute to conceptual budgets under management.
• Develop tab sheets and gather subcontractor bids.
• Coordinate scope with bid team.
• Prepare qualifications/exclusions for trades.
• Foster subcontractor relationships and networking.
• Attend subcontractor networking events.
