Job summary

CDM Smith in the United States is seeking an experienced estimator to prepare design/build, engineer, construction management, GMP, and hard-bid estimates and proposals for a range of projects. You will analyze quotations, evaluate subcontractor bids, and develop pricing strategies that meet client requirements.

Responsibilities include performing quantity take-offs, applying WBS, developing cost opinions, coordinating with teams, and guiding junior staff in estimating procedures.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 8 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
• Equivalent additional related experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Prepares design/build, engineer, construction management, GMP, and hard-bid estimates/proposals.
• Analyzes quotations prior to and on bid day.
• Evaluates bids from subcontractors and suppliers for scope, delivery, and specs.
• Enters quantity take-offs and material unit pricing for projects.
• Develops and applies WBS structure to projects.
• Prepares opinions of probable construction costs.
• Develops subcontractor and vendor scopes for completeness.
• Supports coordination of corporate estimating functions.
• Contacts subcontractors and suppliers for outsource pricing.
• Guides junior staff in estimating procedures and software usage.
• Manages bid day and closeout activities.
• Performs additional duties as required.
