Job summary

ReKinect is expanding its estimating team and seeks a Senior Estimator to lead detailed estimates for electrical and energy projects from concept to bid completion. The candidate will build estimates from the ground up, asking the right questions and identifying what needs to be considered for accuracy.

Experience with BESS and broader renewable energy projects is highly sought after, with preferred HV/High Voltage exposure.

Job description

We are working with a leading electrical contractor that is expanding its estimating team and looking to appoint an experienced Senior Estimator.

This is an opportunity for a seasoned estimator who can take a project from initial concept through to a complete, accurate and buildable estimate. The successful candidate will be someone who doesn't simply price a defined scope. When a new project comes in to bid, you'll be comfortable sitting down, understanding the opportunity, identifying what needs to be considered, asking the right questions and developing the estimate from the ground up.

BESS and broader renewable energy experience is particularly sought after.

What You'll Be Doing

• Lead estimates from initial concept and bid opportunity through to completion.
• Develop detailed estimates for complex electrical and energy projects.
• Review project plans, specifications, scopes and bid requirements.
• Identify project risks, assumptions, exclusions and potential cost impacts.
• Determine the information required to develop a reliable estimate.
• Work closely with project management, engineering and other internal teams.
• Participate in bid reviews and project meetings.
• Evaluate alternative approaches and potential cost-saving opportunities.
• Provide senior-level support and knowledge to the wider estimating team.
• Help ensure estimates accurately reflect the requirements and realities of construction.

What We're Looking For

• 8–10+ years of estimating experience within electrical construction, EPC or a related energy environment.
• Experience estimating complex energy or infrastructure projects.
• BESS / Battery Energy Storage experience is highly desirable.
• Renewable energy experience is highly desirable.
• Substation and HV / High Voltage experience is highly desirable.
• Wind or other energy infrastructure experience is beneficial.
• Strong understanding of electrical construction and project delivery.
• Ability to take ownership of an estimate with minimal direction.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Comfortable leading meetings and working with multiple stakeholders.
• Ability to identify the right questions to ask when approaching a new project.
