Job summary

• Extensive cost estimating experience for utility and energy projects.
• Reading drawings and specifications with accuracy.
• Proficient in quantity takeoffs and pricing.
• Experience with bidding processes and bid proposals.
• Knowledge of risk assessment and contingencies.

Responsibilities

• Lead preparation of detailed cost estimates for utility and energy infrastructure projects
• Review drawings, specifications, and addenda to understand full project scope
• Perform quantity takeoffs and develop labor, material, and equipment pricing
• Solicit, analyze, and level subcontractor and vendor bids
• Identify project risks and contingencies and propose value engineering
• Prepare and present bid proposals and cost summaries to leadership
• Collaborate with project teams to refine estimates and ensure accuracy
• Support handoff of successful bids to operations for execution
• Maintain and update historical cost databases and estimating tools
• Ensure estimates align with MasTec safety, quality, and performance standards
