Job summary

Solid Rock Recruiting LLC in Charleston, SC is seeking a Senior Estimator to lead detailed cost estimates for commercial drywall and related scopes from bid through award.

You will mentor junior estimators, refine estimating processes, and collaborate with project teams and clients during preconstruction to secure projects. Strong drywall experience, reading drawings, and proficiency with Excel and estimating software are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of estimating experience in commercial drywall or related construction trades.
• Strong understanding of drywall assemblies, metal framing systems, and acoustical ceilings.
• Advanced ability to read and interpret construction documents and specifications.
• Proven track record of bidding and winning projects.
• High level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail.
• Strong communication, leadership, and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and estimating software.

Responsibilities

• Lead full-cycle estimating efforts for commercial drywall projects, including metal stud framing, drywall, insulation, acoustical ceilings, and specialty systems
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and develop comprehensive cost estimates from drawings and specifications
• Analyze bid documents, identify risks, and develop scope clarifications and exclusions
• Solicit, evaluate, and negotiate subcontractor and supplier pricing
• Prepare and present bid proposals, budgets, and value engineering options
• Collaborate with project managers, executives, and clients during preconstruction
• Mentor and oversee junior estimators, providing training and quality control
• Maintain and refine historical cost data and estimating processes
• Participate in post-bid reviews, project handoffs, and client interviews

Job Title: Senior Estimator – Commercial Drywall

Location: Charleston, SC

Position Summary

A leading commercial construction contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to lead the preparation of detailed and competitive cost estimates for drywall and related scopes. This role plays a critical part in securing new work, mentoring junior staff, and driving preconstruction strategy from initial bid through project award.

Key Responsibilities
