Job summary

BL Harbert International in Birmingham, AL is seeking an Estimator to compile cost estimates for commercial, federal, industrial, and healthcare building projects. You will assess materials, labor, and equipment from drawings and specs to prepare budgets.

Reports to Estimating Manager; must communicate bids clearly; proficient with Microsoft Office, Timberline, iSqft, and On Screen Take-off; Bachelor's degree required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in construction, engineering, or related field.
• Experience estimating large-scale commercial projects.
• Proficient in communicating bids and scopes of work.

Responsibilities

Description

The estimator is responsible for compiling estimates of how much it will cost to provide a client or potential client with products or services. He or she will do this by working out how much a project is likely to cost and create budgets accordingly. The job involves assessing material, labor and equipment required and analyzing different quotes from sub-contractors and suppliers.

Job Duties & Requirements:

• Reports to the Estimating Manager.
• Prepares detailed commercial, federal, industrial, and healthcare building project estimates. based on the construction drawings and specifications.
• The Estimator is responsible for the communication of bids and scopes of work.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Must be able to estimatelarge scale commercial projects.
• Must be team-oriented; able to contribute within a group work environment.
• Experience with the required technology (Microsoft Office, Timberline, iSqft, On Screen Take-off)
• Bachelor degree in construction, engineering, or related field.
