Job summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor is seeking a Senior Equipment Technician to support memory chip and logic production. You will perform preventative maintenance, calibration, and root-cause analysis in a cleanroom environment, working with engineers and manufacturing teams.

The role requires a technical degree or equivalent military electronics experience, plus 3+ years in semiconductor manufacturing. The D shift runs Wednesdays–Fridays 6:45pm–7:15am with alternating Saturdays, on-site in Austin, TX.

Qualifications

• 2-year technical degree or equivalent military electronics experience.
• 3+ years in semiconductor or high-volume manufacturing.
• Preferred: 300mm Cleans (Wet Etch) experience.
• Preferred: experience with DNS, SEMES, TEL CERTAS/LEAGA, TEL NS300, TEL Cellesta I, FSI Antares, LAM C360 equipment.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong electronics and mechanical troubleshooting abilities.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and documentation.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long hours.

Responsibilities

• Execute scheduled and corrective maintenance per SOPs.
• Respond to equipment faults and perform root-cause analysis.
• Analyze data and verify quality metrics.
• Maintain records and communicate equipment status.
• Operate safely in a cleanroom with PPE.

Uses sophisticated programs to collect and evaluate operating data to conduct in-line adjustments to products, instruments, equipment, or processes. Requires compliance with all health, safety and environmental management system guidelines.**Role and Responsibilities****Here’s What You’ll Be Responsible For:*** Execute scheduled and corrective maintenance according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).* Respond to equipment faults and conduct root-cause analysis.* Analyze data and verify quality metrics.* Maintain accurate, timely records of work, and communicate equipment status during shifts.* Operate safely in a cleanroom environment using a cleanroom suit.* Carry out maintenance tasks while wearing personal protective equipment (PPE).* Work hours: D Shift – Wednesday through Friday (6:45pm – 7:15am) with alternating Saturday.**Skills and Qualifications****Here's what you'll need:*** 2-year technical degree or equivalent military experience with a focus on electronics (e.g., Avionics, Navy nuclear), or 3+ years semionductor or high-volume manufacturing.* Preferred: 300mm Cleans (Wet Etch) experience.* Preferred: Maintenance experience with DNS (single wafer and batch), SEMES (single wafer), TEL CERTAS/LEAGA, TEL NS300, TEL Cellesta I, FSI Antares, and LAM C360 equipment models.* Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Power Point* Fast learner who adapts to new systems and procedural change.* Electronic and mechanical troubleshooting capabilities.* Knowledge of hand tools, pneumatics, and electricity.* Excellent communication, teamwork, analytical, and problem-solving skills.* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and documentation.* Demonstrate critical thinking, planning, and action plan execution.* Ability to lift and move equipment/ supplies up to 50 lbs.* Comfortable standing/walking for 10+ hrs. daily.*The current base salary range for this role is between $31.00 - $46.00/hour. Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications and experience.
