Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Credit Underwriter – Leasing to analyze and underwrite equipment lease requests across risk levels. You will review financial statements, assess residual risks, and provide credit recommendations.

The role may be remote and requires thorough financial analysis abilities and strong collaboration with the leasing team. The ideal candidate has extensive underwriting experience, knowledge of banking practices, and proficiency with MS Office; Salesforce experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in business, finance, or accounting; or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of commercial underwriting experience, preferably in equipment leasing.
• Proven analytical skills with strong written, verbal and interpersonal abilities.
• Knowledge of banking industry practices related to commercial banking.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and financial statement spreading software; Salesforce preferred.
• CLFP certification is preferred but not required.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team with good time management and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Analyze lessee financial statements and provide credit recommendations.
• Spread lessee financial statements using appropriate software and review analyses.
• Assess residual risks and end-of-term lease options (FMVs, PUT, etc.).
• Prepare sensitivity analyses and assess collateral; analyze guarantors' financial condition.
• Identify transactions for syndication and coordinate with the Syndication team.
• Analyze market and industry trends and management teams.
• Contribute to development of commercial leasing procedures to safeguard the bank.
• Recommend alternative lease structures and manage multiple projects within deadlines.
• Ensure compliance with bank/credit policies and relevant laws (UCC).
