Job summary

Langan Engineering & Environmental Services in Texas seeks a Senior Environmental Project Manager specializing in Power Generation and Transmission. You will identify and manage environmental/engineering projects, conduct research, supervise field investigations, and lead a team to deliver high‑quality solutions.

You will supervise staff, manage budgets, and interact with clients while advancing Langan’s growth in the environmental market. This role can be based in Houston, Dallas, or Austin.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Hydrogeology, or Science; Master's preferred.
• 10+ years of environmental engineering experience with a focus on power generation projects.
• CCR (Coal Combustion Residuals) expertise is a plus.
• Experience with US EPA regulations and environmental guidance.
• Professional Geologist (PG) or Professional Engineer (PE) required.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex analyses for environmental projects focused on power generation and transmission.
• Identify and pursue new clients; develop work within existing projects; participate in business development meetings.
• Supervise junior staff; coach, train, and motivate team members on Environmental projects.
• Oversee field activities; ensure proper data collection and laboratory analyses within budget and schedule.
• Manage multiple projects; prepare progress reports, change orders, and draft invoices.
• Write, edit, and coordinate reports and proposals; interface with clients and colleagues.
• Coordinate with other work groups across offices and disciplines as needed.

Job Summary

Langan is seeking a Senior Environmental Project Manager with a specialization in Power Generation and Transmission projects to join its collaborative team in Houston, Dallas, or Austin Texas. This individual will serve a key function in identifying and managing environmental/engineering projects and proposals, conducting engineering research and analysis, and supervising field investigations and laboratory analysis. In this role, you will have the opportunity to manage diverse projects, solve problems and overcome challenges in restoring the environment and become part of the leadership team behind Langan's continuing growth in the environmental market.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform complex analyses for specific portions of broader engineering and environmental projects with a focus on power generation and transmission projects;
• Participate in the identification and pursuit of new clients, develop additional work within an existing project and attend business development meetings with new and existing clients;
• Provide direct oversight and management of junior staff for specific project assignments. Coach, train, and motivate staff assigned to Environmental projects. Participate in interviewing and hiring staff;
• Supervise field activities and ensure correct interpretations of findings. Ensure that data collection and laboratory analyses are completed correctly, within budget, and on time;
• Manage and deliver on multiple projects and tasks within specific budgets, schedules, and deadlines. Prepare progress reports and draft change orders. Prepare draft invoices, project billings, and assist in payment collections;
• Effectively organize, write, and edit reports, draft proposals, and other documents;
• Coordinate other work groups within the same or different office locations and/or within the same or different disciplines on an as-needed basis;
• Interface effectively and professionally with clients, contractors, subcontractors, staff, project personnel, supervisors, and others;
• Perform other duties as requested.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Hydrogeology, or Science; Master's degree preferred;
• 10+ years of successful, local and related environmental engineering experience with a concentration in power generation projects;
• CCR (Coal Combustion Residuals) expertise, including regulatory compliance and site management is a plus;
• Experience working with US EPA regulations and environmental guidance;
• 10+ years of practical experience with environmental investigations and remediation projects;
• Professional Geologist (PG) or Professional Engineer (PE) required;
• Strong people, project, and client management skills;
• Knowledge of quantitative/technical analyses and related software;
• Excellent public speaking, written, and verbal communication skills;
• Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities;
• Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment;
• Possess reliable transportation for client meetings and job site visits and a valid driver's license in good standing.
