Job summary

GAI Consultants, Inc. is seeking a Senior Environmental Planner to lead complex CEQA/NEPA projects across utility, energy, and transportation sectors. You will manage multi-disciplinary teams, coordinate client relationships, and ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.

You will prepare and review environmental documents (IS, EIR/EIS, EA, MD, MND, CE, etc.), mentor staff, drive business development, and represent the firm at public meetings and hearings. Remote work options available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Planning, or related field.
• Minimum 12 years of experience in environmental planning and permitting with CEQA/NEPA, including 5+ years in senior project management.
• Experience managing multiple large-scale compliance projects across diverse regulatory contexts.
• Strong knowledge of environmental regulations including CEQA, NEPA, FLA, CWA, and Endangered Species Act.
• Proven ability in business development, forecasting, and client relationship management.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage complex environmental planning projects across multiple development stages.
• Serve as primary client liaison; facilitate stakeholder meetings and public hearings.
• Direct preparation and review of environmental documents and related technical studies.
• Manage multidisciplinary project teams, budgets, schedules, and QA/QC processes.
• Drive business development and proposal strategy; support account growth.
