Job summary

ICF’s Environment & Planning Division in Northern California seeks an Environmental Planner to contribute to environmental impact analyses for natural resources, land use, transportation, infrastructure, water, and energy projects. You will work on multiple projects with staff across disciplines.

This role emphasizes high-quality research, coordination with clients and agencies, and preparing CEQA/NEPA documents, with opportunities to lead a project and grow within a collaborative team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental studies, urban planning, or related field.
  • 5 years of professional experience including a minimum of 3 in a consulting or public agency environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Leading all aspects of a project, including personnel allocation/planning, technical approach, and subcontractor involvement, with support from senior staff.
  • Gather data, conduct research, and proficiently write impact assessments for various environmental topics (i.e., chapters in CEQA/NEPA documents).
  • Assist with preparation of documents, reports, presentations, technical memoranda, public notices, forms, and other work products.
  • Assist with public outreach activities, including presenting, as well as implementing communication strategies.
  • Strictly adhere to professional standards, including but not limited to demonstrated consistency and reliability, timeliness in meeting project deadlines, communicate clearly and concisely, and work responsibly – on a team or independently.
  • Provide support to key sector clients, including interest and availability to function as on-site client staff.

To support our growth in Northern California, we are seeking an Environmental Planner to contribute to the development of innovative, accurate, timely, and high-quality products and services, typically working on multiple projects with all levels of staff. The primary duties are to prepare environmental impact analyses for a wide range of projects including natural resource, land use, transportation, infrastructure, water, and energy projects. The position includes conducting research and coordinating with public and private clients, engineering partners, technical sub consultants, and regulatory/resource agencies to prepare the analyses. The role includes working as part of a multi-disciplinary team and supporting project directors, project managers, and deputy project managers (based on the size and complexity of the project).

Key Responsibilities

Pay Range

The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is:

$81,147.00 - $137,949.00
