Job summary

LaBella is seeking an Environmental Program Manager to lead our Eastern NY team within the Permitting & Compliance Department. The role focuses on managing projects, mentoring junior staff, and expanding client relationships in a hybrid home/office setting.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in environmental delineation, permitting, and regulatory compliance, with a strong track record in budgeting and proposal development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Ecology, or Biology.
• 8–15 years of experience in delineation, permitting, jurisdictional determinations for wetlands and streams.
• Knowledge of NY local, state and federal regulations related to wetlands, streams and protected species.
• Ability to review, edit, and QA/QC deliverables.
• Experience cost estimating and proposing projects.
• Self-sufficient and self-motivated.
• Comfortable representing the firm and maintaining client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Manage environmental projects focusing on wetlands, species, and stormwater.
• Work with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies.
• Maintain and expand client relationships across our footprint.
• Identify and pursue project opportunities.
• Prepare proposals and project budgets.
• Manage and mentor junior staff.
• Lead and grow the Eastern NY permitting team.
