Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. seeks a Senior Environmental Permitting Lead to drive permitting strategy for large-scale energy and infrastructure projects in the Northeast. You’ll lead regulatory interfaces, deliver high-quality analyses, and mentor a multidisciplinary team.

The role emphasizes collaboration with project management, business development, and cross-department teams to shape project strategies and expand environmental capabilities in the region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in environmental field.
• 10+ years of professional experience in environmental permitting and compliance.
• Strong expertise with NEPA, state permitting, and federal regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead environmental permitting and regulatory strategy for transportation, infrastructure, energy, and development projects across New England.
• Serve as senior technical lead and SME on NEPA, MEPA, CWA, ESA, CZMA, and state permit frameworks.
• Oversee preparation and QC of environmental documents, analyses, permit applications, and impact assessments.
• Provide high-level review, editing, and guidance across interdisciplinary teams.
• Mentor junior/mid-level staff and provide technical direction.
• Support client communication and agency engagement throughout the project lifecycle.
• Assist in scopes, schedules, budgets, and coordination of task leads.
