Jacobs is seeking a Senior Environmental Permitting Lead to drive permitting strategy for transportation, energy, and infrastructure projects across New England. You will oversee regulatory interfaces, NEPA/MEPA compliance, and the preparation of high-quality environmental documents while mentoring junior staff and coordinating with interdisciplinary teams.

This role involves engagement with agencies, proposal support, and business development activities within a hybrid work model.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, planning, biology, ecology, natural resources, or related field.
• 10+ years of professional experience in environmental permitting and compliance.
• Significant experience leading large, multidisciplinary infrastructure or energy projects.
• Expertise with NEPA, MEPA, CWA, ESA, CZMA, EFH, etc.
• Experience engaging with USACE, NMFS, EPA, and state environmental departments.
• Strong technical writing, editing, and communication skills.
• Proven experience mentoring staff and leading technical teams.

Responsabilités

• Lead environmental permitting and regulatory strategy for transportation, infrastructure, energy, and development projects across New England.
• Oversee preparation and quality control of environmental documents, analyses, permit applications, and impact assessments.
• Provide high-level review, technical editing, and strategic guidance across interdisciplinary teams.
• Provide limited project management support, including scopes, schedules, and budgets.
• Mentor junior staff and oversee work products.
• Support client communication and agency engagement throughout the project lifecycle.
