Job summary

The Natural Resources Section of the U.S. Department of Justice, part of the Energy and Natural Resources Division, seeks a senior-level litigator. This role focuses on complex federal litigation involving natural resources, environmental, and cultural resource statutes, with responsibility across multiple courts.

Candidates must have a J.D., be an active bar member, and be a U.S. citizen or national, plus at least 10 years of post-J.D. litigation experience.

Qualifications

• J.D. degree and active bar membership in good standing; U.S. citizenship or national.
• 10+ years of post–J.D. litigation experience.
• Must address MTQs with concrete, succinct examples; limit to one page per MTQ.

Responsibilities

• Provide representation in federal district courts, the Court of Federal Claims, and state courts in complex natural resource, environmental, and cultural resource matters.
• Review and direct work products of attorneys; manage complex litigation projects and teams.
