Job summary

SLR Consulting (US) in Phoenix is seeking a Senior Environmental Management, Permitting & Compliance leader to guide high-profile mining projects and shape the future of responsible resource development.

You will grow our practice, mentor junior staff, manage scope, schedule, and budget, and serve as a trusted advisor to clients and regulators, with a focus on cross-selling opportunities across SLR's global network. A Master’s degree and 10+ years of permitting experience are required.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field.
  • 10+ years of permitting and compliance experience in mining.
  • Proven ability to lead complex, multi-stakeholder projects.
  • Strong consulting experience and client management.
  • Mentor and inspire technical teams.
  • Excellent communication and executive presentation skills.
  • Professional designation with appropriate organization.

As a Senior- Environmental Management, Permitting & Compliance, you will provide strategic leadership on high-profile projects that shape the future of responsible resource development.

Role
  • Grow SLR's Environmental Management, Permitting & Compliance practice, ensuring delivery excellence across all projects
  • Mentor, coach, and develop junior staff across disciplines, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability
  • Play a key role in advancing SLR's technical capabilities and thought leadership in the mining sector.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to executive-level clients, regulators, and internal stakeholders
  • Maintain strong client relationships, identifying opportunities to expand services and cross-sell capabilities across SLR's global network
  • Provide high-level project management oversight, ensuring scope, schedule, and budget are consistently achieved
  • Oversee preparation and peer review of complex permitting and compliance documentation
  • Bring technical depth to the evaluation of environmental, engineering, and regulatory challenges, offering practical solutions that meet client and regulatory needs

  • The salary range for this position is $95,000 - $145,000. Final agreed upon compensation will be commensurate with individual education, professional designation, experience, internal parity, and location.

Qualification
  • Master's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science or related field
  • 10+ years experience with permitting and compliance in the mining sector, including demonstrated success leading complex, multi-stakeholder projects
  • Strong consulting experience, with proven ability to manage client relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and inspire technical teams
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including negotiation, facilitation, and executive-level presentation
  • Strong written communication skills for high level of report writing and peer review capabilities
  • Professional Designation with appropriate Professional Organization
