Job summary

ERM is seeking a Principal Consultant, Environmental FERC Project Manager, to lead large-scale permitting for natural gas and LNG projects across the U.S. You will guide interdisciplinary teams, manage complex schedules and budgets, and engage agencies and clients to advance energy transition goals.

The role requires prior consulting experience with FERC projects, strong NEPA/regulatory knowledge, and exceptional communication skills to drive policy and project success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies, Planning, Engineering, Geology, or related field.
• Prior consulting experience and FERC project expertise essential.
• 6+ years of environmental impact assessment and permitting for FERC-regulated projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead permitting and compliance for Natural Gas Act-regulated projects nationwide.
• Act as primary client contact and lead interdisciplinary teams through permitting phases.
• Oversee FERC applications and coordinate with federal, state, and local agencies.
• Develop technical proposals and maintain strong client relationships.
• Represent ERM in regulatory meetings and industry forums.
• Ensure quality control across environmental assessments and compliance deliverables.
