Job summary

SpaceX is seeking an SR Environmental Engineer to develop and execute site-specific air permitting strategies across SpaceX sites. You will act as a subject matter expert on the Clean Air Act and advise engineering teams on regulatory requirements and compliance programs.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of experience in air permitting. Relocation to a Texas SpaceX facility is required if not local, with occasional travel and possible extended hours.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 5+ years of professional experience in design, development and execution of air permitting strategies under federal and state requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute site-specific air permitting strategies at SpaceX sites.
• Assist in planning for changes in facilities or new construction to meet permitting requirements.
• Serve as SME on the Clean Air Act and air regulations across jurisdictions.
• Track and interpret new federal and state air regulations and provide guidance to engineering and leadership teams.
• Conduct internal air compliance audits and support regulatory inspections across sites.
• Coordinate and manage contractors for permitting and environmental testing; review and maintain reports.
