Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Senior Environmental Compliance Professional based in Southern California, with local travel to San Diego, LA, Long Beach, or Orange offices. You will support EHS compliance projects, lead audits, and mentor junior staff within the EHS + Air practice of the Environment Business Line.

The role requires a BA/BS with 6+ years in environmental regulations or consulting, strong client relations, and willingness to travel up to one week per month. A valid U.S.

Qualifications

• BA/BS plus 6 years of relevant experience or equivalent, working with California environmental regulations or in the environmental consulting industry.
• Ability to travel locally, regionally, or out of state up to approximately one week per month for environmental compliance audits.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license.
• Experience with multi‑media environmental regulatory compliance (e.g., CWA, RCRA, CAA) is preferred.
• Professional certifications such as CPEA, CHMM, PE, or CEP are preferred.
• ISO 14001 experience is preferred.
• Experience with health & safety regulatory compliance is preferred.

AECOM is seeking a Senior Environmental Compliance Professional to be based in Southern California, with the work location in San Diego, Los Angeles, Long Beach, or Orange offices. The role is within AECOM’s EHS + Air practice in the Environment Business Line, focusing on supporting clients’ EHS regulatory compliance needs.

• Support EHS business development efforts, including preparation of technical and cost proposals, to grow environmental compliance work with existing and new clients.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

• BA/BS plus 6 years of relevant experience or equivalent, working with California environmental regulations or in the environmental consulting industry.
• Ability to travel locally, regionally, or out of state up to approximately one week per month for environmental compliance audits.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license.

Preferred qualifications:

• 10 years of multi‑media environmental regulatory compliance experience (e.g., CWA, RCRA, CAA) with application demonstrated through compliance audits and corrective actions.
• Professional certification such as CPEA, CHMM, PE, or CEP.
• ISO 14001 experience.
• Experience with health & safety regulatory compliance.

Compensation range: $80,000 – $129,000, based on location and individual qualifications.
