Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Sr. Environmental Engineer to support the Business Operations team in developing and managing organization-wide environmental programs.

The role emphasizes regulatory compliance, risk mitigation, and collaboration with engineering across the company. The ideal candidate will lead audits, maintain compliance calendars, and coordinate permitting and testing with contractors in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 5+ years of professional experience in environmental and regulatory compliance programs.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and improve environmental programs at the company.
• Serve as SME for site specific environmental partners.
• Maintain compliance with EPA, state, and local regulations.
• Track, review, and interpret new environmental laws; advise management.
• Perform environmental audits to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Audit and maintain the compliance calendar and tracking software.
• Audit SWPPP, SPCC, hazardous materials, and wastewater permits; ensure regulatory submissions.
• Coordinate and manage contractors for permitting and environmental testing.
• Assist EH&S team with site operational compliance as needed.
• Develop and maintain relationships with regulators and engineering teams.
• Collaborate with engineering teams across the organization.
