Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a seasoned Requirements Engineer / Business Analyst in Maryland to lead requirements elicitation, analysis, and governance for complex enterprise IT initiatives. You will translate stakeholder needs into clear, testable requirements and maintain end-to-end traceability across design, development, testing, and operations.

You will partner with enterprise architects, engineers, and cybersecurity teams to drive technology modernization, risk assessment, and AoA analyses,

Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience in business analysis, requirements engineering, or enterprise architecture support.
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
• Experience evaluating business, operational, and technical requirements within complex enterprise IT environments.
• Experience with requirements traceability across architecture, design, development, testing, and operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead elicitation sessions with stakeholders and document requirements.
• Analyze mission, business, and technical needs to identify capability gaps and modernization requirements.
• Develop and maintain functional, nonfunctional, operational, security, and data requirements.
• Translate objectives into use cases, data flows, acceptance criteria, and solution recommendations.
• Support AoA, technology assessments, and modernization planning activities.
• Establish traceability between objectives, requirements, architecture decisions, and outcomes.
• Facilitate governance reviews and document decisions and actions.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, cybersecurity, and vendors across the lifecycle.
• Produce analyses, briefing materials, and governance artifacts for enterprise decisions.
• 11+ years of professional experience in related roles.
