Job summary

Quantum Sky is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to support a long-term federal program responsible for engineering, operations, and modernization of mission-critical enterprise infrastructure. This role covers hundreds of locations across multiple security domains with Cisco/Juniper environments.

The ideal candidate will have deep experience with OSPF/BGP, IPsec VPNs, GRE, and encrypted communications, plus strong technical communication across network, systems, and security teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of professional experience in complex enterprise networks.
• Bachelor’s degree; Master’s may substitute for four years of general work experience.
• Advanced hands-on experience with OSPF, BGP, IPsec VPNs, GRE tunneling.
• Experience configuring Cisco and Juniper routers, switches, firewalls, and ACLs.
• Experience with VMware and VDI networks.
• Experience with Type 1 encryption technologies (KG-175/TACLANE).
• Strong technical communication and cross-team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Design and evolve large-scale enterprise network architectures for hundreds of locations.
• Engineer and troubleshoot Cisco and Juniper routers, switches, firewalls, and ACLs.
• Support hub-and-spoke network architectures with secure connections.
• Collaborate with server, VMware/VDI, storage, cloud, and security teams.
• Develop lab tests and production change plans following change management.
• Provide technical leadership and documentation of standards and requirements.
• Work with COMSEC and security teams on secure communications.
