Job summary

Request Technology, LLC is seeking a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Architect to lead enterprise cloud strategies across public, private, and hybrid environments in Chicago, IL or Houston, TX. Hybrid: 3 days onsite, 2 days remote, with a focus on scalable, secure design and migration from on‑prem.

You will drive migrations, design resilient deployments, ensure governance and compliance, produce diagrams and runbooks, and collaborate with security and AI teams to govern workloads and costs.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of technology experience with 3+ years in cloud infrastructure design.
• Cloud certifications such as Azure, AWS, or Google cloud architect certifications are strongly preferred.
• Deep knowledge of multi-cloud and hybrid architectures with on-prem migration experience.
• Experience with containers and orchestrators: Docker, Kubernetes, Rancher, AKS, EKS, GKE.
• Experience designing AI infrastructure, troubleshooting complex issues, and data processing with modern tooling.
• Strong scripting and IaC skills including PowerShell, Chef, Ansible, Puppet, Terraform; familiarity with CI/CD.
• Expertise in cloud governance and IAM including AD, Entra ID, and Conditional Access.
• Strong LAN/WAN/SD-WAN knowledge with Windows and Linux servers.

Responsibilities

• Define and lead enterprise-wide cloud and infrastructure strategies, roadmaps, and standards.
• Design scalable solutions across public, private, and hybrid clouds, integrating with on-prem systems.
• Lead cloud and application migration initiatives with security and enterprise architecture alignment.
• Oversee architecture reviews and ensure compliance with standards and governance.
• Assess architectures for gaps and risks, delivering actionable optimization recommendations.
• Drive medium to large-scale infrastructure and platform transformations from concept to delivery.
• Champion cloud data security, governance, and cost controls for AI workloads.
• Create and maintain architecture diagrams, runbooks, and documentation for diverse audiences.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of overall technology experience including 3+ years in advanced cloud infrastructure design
• Cloud certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or Google Professional Cloud Architect are strongly preferred.
• Deep knowledge of multi-cloud environments (Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP)) and hybrid architecture, including migration from on-premises systems.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Rancher, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS), and Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE).
• Experience designing infrastructure for AI workloads, troubleshooting complex issues, managing model consumption, and working with Microsoft Fabric for large-scale data processing.
• Strong skills in scripting and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools including PowerShell, Chef, Ansible, Puppet, and Terraform; familiarity with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) practices.
• Expertise in cloud governance, identity and access management including Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, and Conditional Access policies.
• Strong understanding of Local Area Network/Wide Area Network/Software-Defined Wide Area Network (LAN/WAN/SD-WAN), along with Windows and Linux server technologies.

• Take projects from concept through design and implementation, driving medium to large-scale infrastructure and platform transformations.
• Champion cloud data security, governance practices, and cost controls, including managing consumption and rate limits for AI-driven workloads.
• Create and maintain architecture diagrams, patterns, runbooks, and documentation while clearly articulating technical concepts to diverse audiences.
