Job summary

The City of Charlotte is seeking an experienced I&T Systems Architect to define and govern our enterprise technology architecture. You will develop strategic plans, standards, roadmaps, and solution designs that guide system selection, implementation, and integration across departments.

You will lead discovery, architecture artifacts, and governance activities, ensuring secure, scalable, and cost-effective solutions aligned with city priorities and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or Equivalent with 9 years of related work experience; or 2 Year College Degree with 7 years; or Bachelor’s with 5 years; or Master’s with 3 years; or equivalent.
• Master’s degree with 3 years of relevant experience.
• Proven experience in systems/solution/enterprise/cloud architecture.

Responsibilities

• Define and govern the City’s enterprise technology architecture and roadmaps.
• Lead architecture reviews, discovery, and design across on-prem, cloud, and hybrid environments.
• Translate business needs into secure, scalable, and cost-effective solution designs.
