Job summary

Commonwealth of PA2 - OA is seeking an Enterprise Cloud Data Platform Architect to lead the design and delivery of a scalable, secure cloud data platform for state agencies. The role emphasizes architectural direction, platform engineering, and enterprise enablement, working with CISO and GRC teams to implement security controls.

Flexibility includes hybrid work and in-office collaboration in Harrisburg. The candidate will drive multi-year roadmaps, promote API-first, and ensure reusable data

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Computer Science, Information Systems, Systems Programming or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 10 years of experience building large scale cloud data platforms.
• 7+ years hands-on experience in modern data architecture and cloud infrastructure.
• Experience designing and implementing enterprise security controls for cloud data platforms, including IAM.
• Proficient with Terraform or equivalent for infrastructure as code.
• Data Platform & Services experience with Snowflake, Databricks, AWS, Azure.

Responsibilities

• Enterprise Platform Architecture: define target architecture for an enterprise data platform.
• Platform Engineering: build MVP and mature cloud data platform over time.
• Enterprise enablement: design and build platform services and onboarding patterns.
• Leadership: develop engineering best practices and collaborate across agencies.
