Job summary

Tria Federal is seeking an Enterprise Cloud / VAEC Architect Lead to serve as the technical authority across a large, enterprise-scale hosting program. You will define target-state architecture, standards, and modernization roadmaps while guiding cross-domain teams in on-prem, AWS, Azure, container, and hybrid environments.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the program's senior technical authority and own the integrated technical solution across Application Hosting task areas.
• Develop and maintain the target-state architecture, technical roadmap, reference architectures and engineering standards.
• Integrate cross-domain architects into a unified operating and modernization model.
• Lead architecture reviews for AWS, Azure, on-premises, hybrid-cloud, Kubernetes, OpenShift, and more.
• Evaluate workload requirements and recommend IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, containers, VMs, and on-prem patterns.
• Direct workload discovery, dependency mapping, and current- and future-state architecture development.
• Establish reusable patterns for IaC, GitOps, CI/CD, platform engineering, and automation.
• Ensure decisions address availability, resiliency, scalability, security and lifecycle supportability.
• Partner with security/compliance to embed Zero Trust, IAM, logging, encryption, and continuous ATO evidence.
• Define monitoring, telemetry, alerting, capacity management, and automated incident response needs.
• Incorporate FinOps principles into architecture and workload intake for cost-performance trade-offs.
• Lead technical trade-off decisions on cost, schedule, performance, security, and modernization value.
• Chair or support Architecture Review Board and document major technical decisions.
• Identify risks, gaps, dependencies, and debt; develop mitigation plans and track actions to closure.
• Support incident, disaster-recovery, migration, and performance scenarios with architecture guidance.
• Review deliverables, diagrams, and plans; mentor architects, engineers, and leads.
• Support staffing, basis-of-estimate development, partner integration, and resource planning.
• Lead the technical solution narrative and prepare scenario-based demonstrations for evaluators.
• Translate complex concepts into clear, outcome-focused recommendations for Government executives.
