Job summary

The Brattle Group, a private global economics consulting firm, is seeking a Senior Enterprise Applications Engineer to join our Boston, MA office. This role designs, builds, and supports data platforms, dashboards, integrations, and business-critical applications across the firm, advancing AI and automation to optimize workflows.

You will own end-to-end solutions that integrate enterprise systems, enable analytics, and automate processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience across a diverse technology base.
  • Advanced proficiency in T‑SQL and SQL Server, including performance tuning.
  • Strong experience developing applications, automation solutions, and data workflows using Python; familiarity with AI tools is desirable.
  • Experience creating executive-level dashboards and self-service analytics with Power BI/SSRS.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop data solutions including data warehouse and BI solutions.
  • Lead the design and implementation of system integrations using APIs and data interfaces.
  • Lead the development of interactive dashboards and reports to transform data into insights.
  • Develop and optimize ETL/data integration pipelines (Azure Data Factory/SSIS).
  • Build applications and automation workflows using Python, C#, and AI-enabled tools.
  • Design AI-driven workflows to improve business processes and efficiency.
  • Serve as technical lead on projects from requirements to delivery.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Support and enhance critical enterprise systems and reporting environments.
  • Administer and develop SharePoint solutions in Microsoft 365 and on-prem environments.

The Brattle Group, a privately held, global economics consulting firm, is looking for a Senior Enterprise Applications Engineer to join our Boston, MA office.

The Brattle Group is seeking an experienced Senior Enterprise Applications Engineer to join our Information Technology team. This role plays a critical part in designing, building, and supporting data platforms, data visualizations solutions, integrations, and business-critical applications across the firm, while advancing the firm's use of AI and automation to optimize workflows and connect enterprise systems. You will serve as a technical leader, owning end-to-end solutions that integrate enterprise systems, enable analytics and reporting, and automate business processes. This is a hands‑on role for someone who enjoys solving complex problems, collaborating with stakeholders, and building reliable, scalable solutions using modern data, AI and application technologies.

Some of the day-to-day responsibilities of this role include:
  • Design and develop data solutions including data warehouse and business intelligence solutions
  • Lead the design and implementation of system integrations using APIs, web services, and data interfaces
  • Lead the design, development, and maintenance of advanced, interactive dashboards, data visualizations, reports, and analytical solutions using Power BI, SSRS, T‑SQL, and other business intelligence tools to transform data into actionable insights
  • Develop and optimize ETL and data integration pipelines using SQL, Azure Data Factory, SSIS, Databricks, and related tools
  • Develop applications, automation workflows, and data solutions using Python, C#, and emerging AI‑enabled tools
  • Design, develop and implement AI‑driven workflows, agents, and automation solutions to improve business processes and operational efficiency
  • Serve as a resource for AI technologies, promoting best practices, sharing knowledge, and supporting adoption across the firm
  • Act as technical lead on projects, guiding solution design and implementation from requirements through delivery
  • Partner with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate business needs into effective technical solutions
  • Support and enhance critical business systems, custom applications, databases, and reporting environments
  • Administer and develop SharePoint solutions in Microsoft-365 and On-Prem environments
  • Troubleshoot complex technical issues and deliver practical, reliable solutions
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of development standards, tools, and processes
THE CANDIDATE
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 5+ years of experience working across a diverse technology base
  • Advanced proficiency in T‑SQL and SQL Server, including performance tuning and optimization
  • Strong experience developing applications, automation solutions, and data workflows using Python; experience with AI technologies, tools, and workflows is highly desirable
  • Advanced experience creating executive‑level dashboards, interactive visualizations, KPI reporting, and self‑service analytics/reporting solutions using Power BI, SSRS, and other business intelligence platforms
  • Proven experience designing and building data warehousing, data lakes and analytics solutions
  • Hands‑on experience developing ETL pipelines using Azure Data Factory and SSIS (or equivalent tools)
  • Experience supporting and integrating enterprise applications
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical workstreams and own solutions end to end
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem solving skills
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with technical and non‑technical stakeholders
  • SharePoint administration and development experience (Microsoft 365 and on‑prem) is a plus
  • Experience with Microsoft Power Platform (PowerApps, Power Automate, etc.) is a plus
  • Proactive, self‑directed, and comfortable working independently and as part of a dynamic team
  • Strong customer‑service mindset with effective time management and strict attention to detail
  • Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
  • Collaborative team player who communicates clearly and professionally
  • Comfortable working under pressure while maintaining high standards of quality
  • A desire to problem solve, research tools and applications to automate work
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem solving skills

Brattle offers a competitive benefits package, base salary, and bonus program for eligible roles based on individual and firm performance. The anticipated base gross salary range for this position in Boston, MA is $120,000 - $135,000 annually. Actual salary will depend on a variety of factors, including experience and training.
