Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Senior Forward Deployed AI Engineer to architect, build, and operationalize enterprise-scale AI systems for complex client transformation programs. The role blends hands-on engineering with AI architecture, governance, and executive-level technical advisory, collaborating with client and delivery teams to design human-agent operating models and context pipelines.

Qualifications

• 12–20 years of leadership in AI architecture or digital transformation.
• Experience delivering enterprise-scale Generative AI, RAG, LLM, and agentic AI in production.
• Hands-on software engineering with Java, .NET, Python.
• Deep understanding of multi-agent architectures, context engineering, knowledge orchestration, tool use.
• Experience defining responsible AI frameworks, guardrails, evaluation standards, and regulated AI decisioning models.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver AI-native enterprise architectures spanning applications, data platforms, business processes, and cloud environments.
• Build production-grade Generative AI, RAG, and agentic AI solutions, from architecture through deployment and operation.
• Lead client architecture workshops, technical discovery sessions, and executive-level solution discussions.
• Establish guardrails for agent boundaries, data handling, and safety across enterprise workflows.
• Define standards for AI-generated code quality, validation, security, and observability across the lifecycle.
