Job summary

ORBIS Inc. seeks a Senior Engineering Technician (Mechanical) to support maintenance, overhaul, and repair of equipment on U.S. Navy Aircraft Carriers (CVN) and surface ships. Work performed aboard US Naval vessels in San Diego, CA.

The role trains Ship's Force technicians via focused “Find, Fix, and Train” activities and maintains readiness for deployments. Requires extensive mechanical experience on naval platforms and leadership in technical teams.

Qualifications

• 12 years in operations, repair, and maintenance of mechanical equipment on ships.
• 4 years directing or supervising skilled technical personnel.
• 5 years in Navy 3-M and supply system administration.
• 5 years with shipboard propulsion plants or auxiliary machinery.
• Associate Degree may substitute for up to 2 years of technician experience.

Responsibilities

• Find, fix, and train Ship's Force equipment operators and maintenance technicians.
• Provide a team of experts in Navy systems/equipment maintenance and preventive training.
• Support maintenance planning for overhaul and repair of equipment on CVN and surface ships.

Job Description: The Senior Engineering Technician (Mechanical) will support maintenance and planning for the overhaul and repair of equipment and systems associated with U.S. Navy Aircraft Carriers (CVN) and U.S. Navy Surface Ships.

• Work will be performed on board US Naval vessels located in San Diego, CA.
• The salary for this position is salary range $85 - $105K
• The support will include providing aircraft carriers and the surface fleet a team of experts in Navy systems/equipment maintenance, for both preventive and equipment maintenance training.
• The Senior Engineering Technician (Mechanical) will "Find, Fix, and Train" Ship's Force equipment operators and maintenance technicians, with the goal of enabling sailors to maintain and repair equipment during their operational deployments.
• Required Skills and Experience:

• a. Twelve (12) years experience in the operations, repair, and maintenance of mechanical equipment and systems of U.S. Naval ships is required, including:
• b. Four (4) years of experience directing or supervising a work force of skilled technical personnel in the performance of repair and maintenance functions.
• c. Five (5) years experience in administration of the Navy 3-M and supply system.
• d. Five (5) years experience with shipboard propulsion plants or auxiliary machinery equipment and/or nuclear-powered propulsion plants maintenance and repair.
• e. An Associate Degree in an appropriate discipline from an accredited college or university may be substituted for up to two (2) years of technician experience.
