Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship and Active DoD Secret Clearance.
• Associate’s Degree in Engineering Technology, math, or science; or formal electronics training from a technical school, Class A or B military school in electronics or communications, four‑year electronics apprentice program, or high school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Prepare designs and specifications for complex equipment or systems.
• Plan approach to solve design problems.
• Conceive and recommend new design techniques.
• Resolve design problems with contract personnel and assure compatibility of design with other parts of the system.
• Design and coordinate test set‑ups and experiments to prove or disprove the feasibility of preliminary design.
• Use measurement techniques and improve performance of equipment.
• Advise equipment users on redesign to solve operational deficiencies; plan approach and conduct experiments to develop equipment or systems.
• Arrange for fabrication of pilot models and determine test procedures and design of special test equipment.
