Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Waynesboro, VA is seeking an Engineering Technician 4 to support development, troubleshooting, and maintenance of advanced industrial automation systems and manufacturing equipment.

This hands-on role requires a US Secret security clearance (interim clearance required to start) and a background in manufacturing environments. The team emphasizes equipment reliability and digital maintenance tools, with collaboration across OEMs.

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent with 6 years of additional education/experience.
Experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
Experience with equipment maintenance and troubleshooting; e.g., pumps, coolant systems, mechanical drives, alignments.
Fluency in MS Office software applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel etc.).
Ability to obtain and maintain a US Secret level security clearance plus program clearance.
Interim Secret clearance is required to start.
US Citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot equipment and perform preventive maintenance; develop process improvements.
Collaborate with peers, assemblers, and technicians to ensure equipment readiness and availability.
Develop and implement site CMMS; digitize maintenance processes.
Collaborate with OEMs when troubleshooting and developing corrective actions.
Develop digital work instructions for manufacturing and maintenance tasks.
Support specifying, identifying, and procuring new manufacturing equipment for production readiness.
