Job summary

Stryker is seeking a Senior Engineering Technician at the Portage, MI facility to independently support equipment, drive process development, and lead 6S in the plant. You will work with engineering and operations on upgrades, tooling, and new technologies while training staff and assisting with validation and PPAPs.

The role requires a High School or GED, 2+ years of controls experience, and familiarity with Allen-Bradley, PLCs, and SQL.

Qualifications

• High School or GED is required.
• Proficiency with calibrated devices and reading detailed mechanical prints.
• Minimum 2+ years of controls experience.
• Experience with Allen-Bradley, Python is preferred.
• Technical understanding of assembly processes, SQL.
• Journeyman certification in industrial maintenance; PLC and HMI/SCADA knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Document safety and lead 6S improvements in plant areas.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations on upgrades and new equipment purchases.
• Document results of projects and share analyses with team.
• Work with vendors on tooling and process improvements for existing or new applications.
• Specify tooling and guide orders for tooling sustainment.
• Design and plan solutions for implementing new technology on the production floor.
• Train employees on fabrication processes and test results as needed.
• Support daily production via troubleshooting and equipment tooling/operation guidance.
• Assist in validation activities including equipment qualifications, process validations, and PPAPs.
