Job summary

PG&E’s Applied Technology Services (ATS) Engineering team in Danville seeks an Engineering Technician II to perform complex laboratory and field assignments, planning and conducting projects of limited scope under supervision.

Under ESC collective bargaining, the role covers testing, repairs, calibrations, and reporting. The position is onsite in Danville, CA, with hourly pay between $63.03 and $70.35, depending on skills, education, and bargaining increases.

Department Overview

The Applied Technology Services (ATS) Engineering staff provides engineering, testing and analysis services and expertise across multiple disciplines to various company organizations to identify, diagnose and solve technical problems. The staff provides consultation and advice to clients to proactively avoid future problems by specifying equipment, materials and methods that are best practices in the industry. Services include inspections, failure analysis, performance assessments, and evaluations on a wide variety of systems and components ranging from in-service concrete to hydroelectric turbine blades to distributed generation. The engineering staff partners with management in the creation of bid proposals for requested client work. The incumbents maintain knowledge of and adhere to all company and regulatory safety and quality processes and procedures.

Position Summary

This position is represented by Engineers and Scientists of California (ESC) subject to collective bargaining.

Under the supervision of an employee in a higher classification, performs complex laboratory and field assignments involving responsibility for planning and conducting a complete project of relatively limited scope or a portion of a large and more diverse project. May coordinate portions of overall assignments, direct, review, analyze, and integrate the technical work of others. Will be required to assist or perform laboratory and field tests, repairs, calibrations, and investigations of a difficult nature on a wide variety of materials and equipment and prepare reports thereon. May be required to perform tests in the field without direct supervision, including dielectric testing, and may provide project supervision over other personnel. Performs the work of an Engineering Technician II and other related work duties as required.

PG&E is providing the hourly rate range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the timeofthe job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual hourly rate paid to anindividualwill be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses orcertifications,experience, market value, geographic location, collective bargaining agreement, and internalequity.

Under the terms of the collective bargaining agreement, the hourly rate range for this position is $63.03 to $70.35,subject to collectively bargained wage increases.

Qualifications
