Job summary

HDR is seeking a Senior Project Manager Engineer in Portland, OR to lead large, multi-discipline projects from initiation through close-out. You will supervise teams, manage client relations, and drive bid and production meetings while maintaining budget and schedule.

A PE license and strong business development skills are highly valued. You will mentor junior PMs, implement QA/QC procedures, and coordinate staffing across projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
• 10 years related experience.
• 5 years project management experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license recognized by the licensing board.
• MS Office and MS Project experience; Access would be a plus.
• Demonstrated leadership, business development and strategic planning skills.
• Active participation in employee-owned culture.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate work of single or multidiscipline teams through the project's lifecycle (development to close-out).
• Manage large multidiscipline projects or medium-sized projects with high technical complexity and a large staff.
• Produce and coordinate several projects concurrently.
• Establish and maintain client relations, and be involved with marketing, contractual, design and production meetings.
• Conduct work sessions for deliverable development with staff and stakeholders.
• Coordinate staffing and workload through the project life cycle and ensure on-schedule completion.
• Track financials and adjust work effort to meet budget and schedule.
• Work with accounting, operations and leadership for periodic reviews.
• Implement QA/QC procedures.
• Supervise large project staffs and mentor other Project Managers.
• Perform other duties as needed.

In the role of Senior Project Manager Engineer, we'll count on you to:

• Direct and coordinate work of single or multidiscipline teams throughout the project's lifecycle (from development & initiation to close-out)
• Responsible for all aspects of large multidiscipline projects or medium-sized projects with high degree of technical complexity, involving a large project staff
• Produce and coordinate several projects concurrently
• Establish and maintain client relations, and be involved with marketing, contractual, design and production meetings
• Conduct work sessions for deliverable development in conjunction with other staff and stakeholders
• Coordinate staffing and workload through entire project life cycle, and ensure completion of deliverables on schedule
• Track financial aspects of projects, and coordinate and adjust work effort with team to ensure that work is completed within parameters of agreed-to budget and schedule
• Work with the Accounting, Operational and Business leadership for periodic project reviews
• Implement QA/QC procedures
• Supervise large project staffs and act as mentor for less-experienced Project Managers
• Perform other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• A minimum of 10 years in project management experience
• 20 years related experience

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering
• 10 years related experience
• A minimum 5 years project management experience

Requires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered. Example: Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license.

• MS Office and MS Project experience (Access experience would be plus)
• Demonstrated leadership, business development and strategic planning skills
