Job summary

General Dynamics Mission Systems, Inc. is seeking a Deputy Program Manager, Engineering to oversee cross-functional engineering projects and ensure high quality deliverables.

The role requires hands-on leadership across mechanical, electrical, electro-optical, software, and hardware domains, with strong focus on risk and change management, and collaboration with multiple IPTs and customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related Science, Engineering, or Mathematics field with 8+ years experience; or Master's degree with 6+ years experience.
• Security clearance: DoD Secret; U.S. citizenship.
• Hands-on technical leadership across mechanical, electrical, electro-optical, software, hardware domains.
• Experience leading systems engineering lifecycle, requirements, architectures, interfaces, and verification.

Responsibilities

• Lead the systems-engineering lifecycle from customer engagement through deployment and sustainment.
• Elicit customer needs and distinguish operational needs from proposed solutions.
• Oversee system architectures, requirements hierarchies, interfaces, and verification strategies.
• Coordinate with program management for customer negotiations and risk management.
• Apply EVMS, CAM, SPI/CPI, and SPC methods to manage complex programs.
• Mentor engineers and develop technical leaders across multiple IPTs.
• Ensure engineering plans, documentation, and processes meet quality standards.
