Job summary

MiniMed seeks a Sr Engineering Manager - Systems Design for our Northridge Office. This onsite role requires four days in the office with one day remote, leading design and development of medical device products or software systems.

The candidate will guide methodologies, oversee tech evaluations, and ensure timely delivery through cross-functional collaboration with suppliers and internal teams. A strong background in systems design and people leadership is essential.

Qualifications

• Requires broad management knowledge to lead project teams in one department.
• Mastery level knowledge in a specific technical or professional discipline with broad understanding of other areas.
• Bachelor's degree and 7+ years of relevant experience with 5+ years of managerial experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with 5+ years of managerial experience.

Responsibilities

• Plans, directs and implements all aspects of the company's design and development of new medical device products or software systems.
• Develop, evaluate, implement and maintain QA and control systems or reliability systems and standards.
• Oversees the investigation and evaluation of existing technologies.
• Guides the conceptualization of new methodologies, materials, machines, processes or products.
• Directs the development of new concepts from initial design to market release.
• Manages feasibility studies of the design to determine if capable of functioning as intended.
• Monitors documentation maintenance throughout all phases of research and development.
• Organizes coordination with outside suppliers and consultants to ensure timely delivery.
• Selects, develops and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
