Job summary

Allegion is seeking a Senior Manager, Software Engineering to lead the Order Management Digital Transformation program, building a high-performing engineering organization delivering scalable, secure software.

Hybrid work model; collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Architects, Delivery Managers, Enterprise Architecture, Security, and Infrastructure to align technology with business goals. Focus on cloud-native design, CI/CD, and AI-assisted engineering.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 10+ years of software engineering experience.
  • 5+ years of technical leadership and people management experience.
  • Experience leading enterprise application development teams and delivering large-scale digital transformations.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud technologies, APIs, integration platforms, DevOps, and modern software architecture.
  • Able to influence across business and technology stakeholders and communicate with senior leaders.
  • Experience with ERP and Order Management ecosystems is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop high-performing Software Engineering competency across Order Management Digital Transformation initiatives.
  • Establish engineering culture, technical excellence standards, software development practices, and clear accountability for engineering outcomes.
  • Define and communicate the technical vision, architecture roadmap, modernization strategy, and engineering standards across web, integration, cloud, ERP-related, and emerging platforms.
  • Partner with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Architects, Delivery Managers, Enterprise Architecture, Security, Infrastructure, and business stakeholders to align technology investments with strategic business objectives.
  • Provide technical leadership across multiple concurrent transformation initiatives supporting Order Management & Business operations.
  • Drive CI/CD, DevOps, test automation, observability, platform reliability, software quality, and operational excellence initiatives.
  • Champion modern engineering approaches including cloud-native development, API-first design, reusable services, automation, and AI-assisted engineering practices.
  • Build organizational depth through mentoring, career development, succession planning, technical growth programs, and future engineering leader development.

Senior Manager, Software Engineering The Senior Manager, Software Engineering leads the Software Engineering competency for Order Management Digital Transformation initiatives. This role is responsible for building a high-performing engineering organization that delivers scalable, secure, and business-focused software solutions while establishing engineering standards, technical strategy, architecture governance, and talent development practices. You’ll partner closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Architects, Delivery Managers, Enterprise Architecture, Security, Infrastructure, and business stakeholders to accelerate digital transformation across Order Management, ERP modernization, customer onboarding, workflow automation, and emerging business capabilities.

What You Will Do:

What You Need to Succeed:
  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Required: 10+ years of software engineering experience.
  • Required: 5+ years of technical leadership and people management experience.
  • Required: Experience leading enterprise application development teams and delivering large-scale digital transformation initiatives.
  • Required: Strong knowledge of cloud technologies, APIs, integration platforms, DevOps, CI/CD, test automation, observability, and modern software architecture.
  • Required: Demonstrated ability to influence across business and technology organizations and communicate effectively with senior stakeholders.
  • Required: Strong leadership skills with experience building engineering teams, developing talent, and creating clear ownership and accountability.
  • Preferred (Nice to have): Experience with ERP and Order Management ecosystems.
  • Preferred (Nice to have): Experience supporting manufacturing, supply-chain, or customer-facing digital platforms.
  • Preferred (Nice to have): Experience leading distributed and cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Preferred (Nice to have): Knowledge of AI-enabled development practices, automation, advanced analytics, and responsible AI governance.
  • Preferred (Nice to have): Experience building engineering competency models, technical career frameworks, and leadership pipelines.
