  • Proactively resolve problems and discrepancies with quality, delivery, quantity, and invoicing of purchases, and maintain procurement records to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Own the tactical day‑to‑day supplier relationship and lead a team through complex problem solving as needed.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvements, both within category responsibilities and across broader work processes.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal customers and key vendors.
  • Expedite suppliers and logistics, stay familiar with impact order management, and escalat[e] when necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and laboratory protocols, and participate in special projects and initiatives as appropriate.
WHAT YOU BRING
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business discipline.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in Purchasing, Planning, Sourcing, or a related Supply Chain field, ideally in a manufacturing/production environment.
  • Experience training and mentoring newer Buyer/Planners.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of products, especially Excel.
  • Comfortable interacting with suppliers, including situations that may require assertiveness.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate a position with clarity at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work with key stakeholders across multiple global locations and levels, leading cross-functional teams toward a common goal.
