Qualifications

Job Description

As a Senior Engineer, you will apply your skills and insights as part of teams across the South Central Region and the United States.

Your responsibilities include delivering water and wastewater facilities planning and design projects for the public sector. You will plan, develop, coordinate, and direct multiple projects, including guiding or preparing assessment and design reports, performing calculations, modeling, equipment selection, and preparing design and construction documents. Support during construction and occasional field visits are also required. You will mentor engineers and receive support from senior mentors and regional leadership.

Qualifications and Skills

Required

• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Several years of project management and design experience in water/wastewater facilities following PE licensure
• Experience managing projects from preliminary design through construction
• Proven ability to lead multiple successful projects while meeting schedule and budget goals
• Supervisory, coordination, mentoring, and review experience
• Ability to estimate workloads and develop schedules
• Client communication and coordination experience
• Participation in proposal development and interviews
• Engagement with professional societies
• Proficiency in software platforms like Microsoft Office and Bluebeam
• Strong organizational skills

Preferred

• Managing projects with fees of $2M or more
• Negotiating contracts with clients
• Recruiting staff
• Leadership roles in professional societies
• Familiarity with CADD, GIS, Revit, or similar software

Education

Required

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering
• Texas PE or license in another state with ability to obtain Texas PE within 12 months
