Job summary

Ardurra is seeking a Senior Engineer - Water/Wastewater to join our St. Augustine, FL team. This role leads and supports projects delivering water and wastewater systems, ensuring regulatory compliance and sustainable design.

Ideal candidates hold a PE, 10+ years in water/wastewater, and a civil/environmental engineering degree (Master's preferred). You will mentor staff, coordinate with regulators, and develop detailed designs and cost estimates.

Qualifications

  • PE license required or ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • 10+ years of experience in water and wastewater engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of treatment processes, hydraulics, and infrastructure.
  • Experience leading and managing project design and delivery.
  • Familiarity with applicable codes and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to mentor junior staff and coordinate with teams.

Responsibilities

Ardurra is seeking a Senior Engineer - Water/Wastewater to join our team ideally in St. Augustine, FL.

Primary Function:

This position will lead and support projects focused on water and wastewater systems. This role will play a critical part in delivering innovative engineering solutions, ensuring regulatory compliance, and contributing to sustainable water and wastewater infrastructure projects.

Primary Duties:
  • Lead the planning, design, and management of water and wastewater treatment facilities, distribution systems, and collection systems.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, prepare technical reports, and provide recommendations for infrastructure improvements.
  • Develop detailed engineering designs, calculations, specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Manage and mentor junior staff, providing technical guidance and professional development support.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies to ensure project alignment with objectives and compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Perform site assessments, inspections, and evaluations to identify project needs and potential challenges.
  • Prepare proposals, budgets, schedules, and project scopes in alignment with organizational goals and client requirements.
Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or related Engineering field (Master’s preferred).
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required, or ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • 10+ years of experience in water and wastewater engineering, with a proven track record in project design and management.
  • Strong knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes, hydraulic modeling, and infrastructure systems.
  • Collaborative approach to leading and working within diverse, multidisciplinary project teams
  • Familiarity with applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Proficiency in engineering software tools such as hydraulic modeling software (Visual Hydraulics, EFT Fathom, WaterGems).
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
