Job summary

Consor is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer focused on water infrastructure. You will lead planning, analysis, and design of critical water and wastewater structures, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and regulators to deliver resilient solutions.

You will develop calculations, construction documents, and reviews, mentoring junior engineers and supporting business development through client engagements and proposals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • 10+ years relevant civil engineering experience.
  • California SE License.
  • Project management experience on Water Resources and applicable structures projects.
  • Experience managing public-sector projects (state, county, city, and federal).
  • Ability to lead, train, motivate, and work within a team.
  • Ability to develop productive, long-term relationships and communicate with clients, peers, multi-disciplinary teams, and management.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the structural design and analysis of water and wastewater infrastructure, including treatment facilities, pump stations, reservoirs, tanks, and hydraulic structures.
  • Serve as the technical lead on multidisciplinary projects, ensuring designs meet client requirements, applicable codes, and industry standards.
  • Develop structural calculations, specifications, reports, and construction documents for projects ranging from rehabilitation efforts to new facility expansions.
  • Perform condition assessments and structural evaluations of existing water infrastructure to identify deficiencies and recommend practical solutions.
  • Collaborate with civil, mechanical, electrical, process, and geotechnical engineers to deliver integrated and efficient project designs.
  • Review and seal engineering deliverables, providing quality assurance and ensuring technical accuracy throughout all phases of project development.
  • Mentor and support junior engineers and designers through technical guidance, project oversight, and professional development.
  • Participate in client meetings, presentations, and workshops, serving as a trusted advisor and primary structural engineering resource.
  • Provide construction-phase services, including responding to RFIs, reviewing submittals, conducting site visits, and resolving field-related engineering challenges.
  • Support business development efforts by cultivating client relationships, identifying new opportunities, and contributing to proposals, interviews, and strategic growth initiatives.

What Your Day Will Look Like:

As a Senior Structural Engineer focused on water infrastructure, you will lead the planning, analysis, and design of critical water and wastewater structures, including treatment facilities, pump stations, reservoirs, elevated tanks, intake structures, and other hydraulic infrastructure. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, project managers, clients, and regulatory agencies to develop innovative and resilient engineering solutions that support essential community services.

Your day will involve performing structural analyses, developing design calculations, preparing construction documents, and conducting technical reviews to ensure compliance with industry standards and client requirements. You will provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers, guide project deliverables through all phases of design, and support business development efforts through client engagement and proposal development.

You will also participate in site visits, condition assessments, and construction support activities, helping resolve field issues and ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. Balancing technical excellence with project execution, you will play a key role in delivering sustainable water infrastructure projects that have a lasting impact on the communities we serve.

Projected Compensation $160 - $200+

What You'll Do:
