Job summary

Jobtailor in the United States, Oklahoma, seeks a senior engineer to lead gas compression and power generation projects, serving as the highest technical SME in gas turbine, steam turbine, and waste heat design. You will direct engineers and support staff while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

The role requires PE certification or a PE path, a Bachelor's in engineering, and 8+ years in the natural gas or petrochemical industry.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an accredited college; or Engineering Technology degree with a PE license.
  • Senior: minimum eight (8) years of engineering experience in the natural gas or petrochemical industry.
  • Senior: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and minimum of seven (7) years of engineering experience in the natural gas or petrochemical industry with a PE Certification
  • Staff: minimum of fifteen (15) years of engineering experience in the natural gas or petrochemical industry
  • Excellent organizational/interpersonal skills; Safety as the utmost priority
  • Expertise in rotating equipment, specifically reciprocating turbines
  • Project management experience preferred

  • Monitor and control project costs and resources.

Job description

Work independently on major gas compression and power generation projects
Anticipate internal and external business trends and recommend improvements to policies, procedures, and standards
Advise management and leadership teams
Deliver technical presentations
Direct the work of other engineers and/or support staff
Perform technical and economic evaluations, performance testing, facility design and construction, upgrades, and research
Serve as a technical specialist in rotating equipment and reciprocating turbines
Apply specialized knowledge to major projects
Anticipate customer needs, assess requirements, and identify solutions
Maintain understanding of industry and operational requirements
Champion best practices and safety standards
Interpret business challenges and improve products, processes, or services
Collaborate to ensure compliance, build improvement plans, and meet training needs
Monitor and control project costs and resources
Serve as the highest technical subject matter expert in gas turbine, steam turbine, and waste heat design for gas compression and power generation
Define maintenance practices for driver and driven equipment
Understand and modify controls logic across platforms
Apply turbine engine, package, and generator controls technology expertise
Perform technical analysis of generator manufacturers' 5MW-and-larger generators
Analyze equipment reliability, generator vibration, generator health under transient loading, and generator protection
Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant Engineering field from an accredited college or university, or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Technology in a relevant field with Professional Engineer (P.E.) license
  • Senior: minimum of eight (8) years of engineering experience in the natural gas or petrochemical industry
  • Senior: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and minimum of seven (7) years of engineering experience in the natural gas or petrochemical industry with a PE Certification
