Job summary

Houston Engineering Inc. (HEI) seeks an experienced transportation civil engineer to lead projects in Fargo, ND. You will guide project teams, manage budgets, and ensure designs meet DOT and city specifications.

Ideal candidates have a BS in Civil Engineering, a PE license or ability to obtain within 6 months, and 8+ years of DOT/highway project experience. HEI offers a collaborative, growth-focused environment with strong compensation and benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Professional Engineer license in the applicable state or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• 8+ years of experience in the design and construction of state DOT and county highway projects.
• Excellent leadership and project management skills.
• Working knowledge of federal, state, and local codes.
• Ability to communicate effectively with groups both internally and externally.

Responsibilities

• Effectively lead and manage activities and people on transportation civil engineering projects and budgets.
• Ensure designs comply with federal, city and DOT specifications.
• Prepare or oversee detailed engineering analyses, schedules, technical reports, etc.
• Create and foster a project team culture of superior service for the customer.
• Interact with clients, regulatory agencies, and the public for project completion; participate in business development.
