AVANGRID is seeking a Senior Engineer in Kirkwood, NY to design and configure protection and control systems for our extensive electric delivery infrastructure. You will coordinate relay settings, analyze faults, and ensure compliant protection schemes across transmission and substation projects.

The role requires leading contractors, conducting disturbance analysis, and representing the company on regional committees, with strong focus on NERC compliance and regulatory standards.

Qualificações

• Minimum 5 years of engineering experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or technology.
• Registered Professional Engineer license or eligibility.
• Experience with ASPEN OneLiner, SEL & GE Relay Programming, IEC61850, and protection coordination analysis.
• FERC, NERC, NPCC and state regulatory knowledge.
• Strong knowledge of power system analysis and protection fundamentals.

Responsabilidades

• Perform relay settings design and relay coordination analysis for protection systems in transmission and substation projects.
• Lead engineering contractors and consultants on protection system settings for capital projects.
• Analyze disturbance events and produce fault analysis reports with actionable recommendations.
• Lead NERC compliance programs for substation assets and support audits.
• Review large customer interconnections and distributed energy resource interconnections to substations and circuits.
• Represent AVANGRID on regional and national committees.

You will work on our extensive electric delivery infrastructure, ensuring safe, timely, and cost-effective completion of projects. **Key Responsibilities*** Perform relay settings design and relay coordination analysis for electric transmission and substation protection systems in support of capital construction programs.* Lead engineering contractors and consultants performing protection system settings for capital projects.* Analyze disturbance event operations, ensuring protection schemes perform flawlessly.
