Job summary

Walter P Moore is seeking a Senior Engineer/PM in Houston to lead and contribute to a variety of traffic engineering projects. You will analyze, design, and implement traffic impact studies, operations analyses, capacity assessments, and comprehensive traffic control plans with a team of engineers and technicians.

Strong client service and communication skills are essential. The role requires a BS/MS in Civil Engineering with a transportation focus, a Texas P.E.

Qualifications

  • BS or MS in Civil Engineering (transportation emphasis preferred).
  • Texas P.E. license required; PTOE preferred.
  • 6–8 years of industry experience in transportation projects.
  • Strong knowledge of traffic analysis software (Synchro, HCS, ArcGIS, VISSIM, TransCad).
  • Familiar with state and local rules, regulations, standards, and procedures.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Design and produce traffic engineering projects with a team of engineers and technicians.
  • Assist in analysis, design and implementation of traffic impact and operations studies.
  • Contribute to capacity analysis, traffic signal design, timing, signing, striping, lighting and traffic control plans.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and agencies; provide proactive client service.
  • Participate in MOORELearning and collaborate across offices as needed.

Job description

Responsibilities

In this position, the Senior Engineer/PM will work with a team of engineers and technicians designing and producing a variety of traffic engineering projects. The responsibilities will include assisting in analysis, design and implementation of projects such as traffic impact studies, traffic operations studies, capacity analysis, traffic signal design, signal timing, signing, striping, lighting and traffic control plans.


In this role as a consulting engineer, excellent written and oral communication skills are required. Working knowledge of traffic analysis software (Synchro, HCS, Arc GIS, VISSIM, TransCad) is essential. An understanding of local agency rules and regulations, technical specialization, great client service capability, and proactivity are required to be qualified for this role.


In addition to the above responsibilities, you will have the opportunity to participate in our in-house staff learning and development program, MOORELearning.
